Shere Tiffany Pendant in Satin Black

A 400mm Tiffany shade in a rich floral pattern, each piece of coloured glass cut, wrapped and soldered by hand, hung from a dark satin black frame with warm highlights caught in the metalwork.

Leaded Tiffany glass behaves differently to a printed or moulded shade. The colours only properly wake up when lit from within, and the amber and green tones in this pattern throw a warm cast onto the ceiling and the surrounding wall as much as onto the table below. Switched off in daylight it reads as a much darker, quieter object, which is worth knowing before you choose where to put it.

A single E27 lamp sits inside the shade. Warm white does the pattern justice; cool white turns the amber grey and kills the point of the glass entirely.
