Should wall lights be fitted in pairs?

Pairs work well either side of a bed, mirror, fireplace or architectural feature, but a single wall light can be exactly right in a reading corner, hallway or beside artwork. Let the room decide rather than treating pairs as a rule.

How high should wall lights be mounted?

It depends on their job. Bedside lights, picture lights, hallway lights and decorative sconces all sit at different heights. Position them for the person using the room and the effect you want.

What's the difference between up/down lights and shaded wall lights?

Up/down fittings shape the wall with directional light, while shaded fittings usually give a softer, more diffused glow. The best choice depends on whether you want atmosphere, task light or architectural emphasis.

Are wall lights wired or plug-in?

Both exist. Check the individual product page before ordering because the installation requirements are different.

Can wall lights help with evening atmosphere?
